Everything must be asked for.” For us, Will is the driving force behind all action, fueling intention and propelling desire. Those who do not feel lack, do not desire. Therefore, "Will" is one of the four essential ingredients of magic and should be exercised from the beginning. If there is a desire to follow the path of the Craft through the Alexandrian Tradition, let this Will be expressed consciously and imperiously. Initiations, therefore, must be asked for. If you seek initiation, ask for it! It is important to understand, however, that the decision to undergo initiation requires significant consideration and responsibility, both from the individual seeking the process and from the Coven that receives and guides them. Na Wicca Tradicional toda iniciação deve ser pedida; ela jamais será oferecida! Como não há o que a wicca eclética chama de “período de dedicação”, o treinamento será recebido pelo candidato após sua iniciação. Meu pedido de iniciação será necessariamente acatado pelo Coven do Rio? Não. Após o candidato realizar o pedido de iniciação, sua carta passará pela apreciação de todos os membros do Coven. Após isso, ele será convidado para uma entrevista presencial com o Alto Sacerdote. O candidato também terá de aguardar o próximo encontro do Coven para que se realize o ritual que chamamos de Permission of the Goddess, onde invocamos a Deusa buscando aprovação para a iniciação do candidato em questão. Superando com sucesso todas essas etapas, o candidato será iniciado. Quanto o Coven do Rio cobra para iniciar pessoas? Nada. Não há pagamento de valores ao Coven ou a qualquer um de seus membros para que haja iniciação. Também não há a comercialização de quaisquer produtos e materiais, ou mesmo a cobrança de mensalidade. Os candidatos que forem considerados aptos para a iniciação assim serão iniciados e não há nenhuma condição de comprometimento financeiro deste com o Coven para prosseguir com o processo. Em quanto tempo receberei a resposta do meu pedido de iniciação? Não há prazo de resposta estipulado visto que existem inúmeras variáveis que podem agilizar ou atardar a conclusão de todo o processo. De qualquer forma, após a entrevista o candidato receberá o contato de um membro do Coven para que se tenha um canal mais rápido de comunicação. Caso meu pedido não seja acatado, em quanto tempo posso refazê-lo? Isso irá depender do motivo da recusa. É importante que, antes de enviar o pedido, o candidato leia nosso artigo sobre a iniciação pois nele constam algumas informações essenciais sobre o processo. Caso meu pedido seja aceito, em quanto tempo serei iniciado? Dependerá muito mais do candidato do que do Coven. Após ter seu pedido acatado, o candidato passará por um período que chamamos de “pré-iniciático” onde ele começará a ser preparado para a iniciação. A duração do pré-iniciático depende exclusivamente do desempenho do candidato. Tenho menos de 18 anos de idade. Posso realizar meu pedido de iniciação? Não iniciamos menores de idade. Não sou do Rio de Janeiro. Posso pedir iniciação para o Coven do Rio? Não restringimos os pedidos por região. Porém, é de extrema importância que os candidatos de fora do Rio de Janeiro considerem que o treinamento recebido no coven exige extremo comprometimento e responsabilidade, devendo o iniciado se deslocar até o local de treino (no Rio de Janeiro) ao menos uma vez no mês. Considere essa viabilidade antes de realizar o pedido. Preciso falar inglês para ser iniciado? Sim. Porém não é necessário que haja fluência. Nossos rituais, liturgia e textos são em inglês, mas basta que o candidato domine o idioma o suficiente para estudar e praticar, ainda que com ajuda. Este Coven é dedicado à bruxaria tradicional e ao ocultismo, com uma abordagem hermética na compreensão dos mistérios. O Coven que nos deu origem, o Coven Acqua Matrem, foi concebido com a missão de ser o berço dos primeiros líderes de covens no Brasil. Seus membros eram submetidos a um treinamento direto sob a tutela dos Elderes dos Estados Unidos. Nesse período, alguns deles visitaram o país, incluindo uma figura notável, Maxine Sanders, a esposa de Alex Sanders e co-fundadora da Tradição Alexandrina da Wicca. Durante essas visitas, importantes lições e insights sobre o trabalho Alexandrino foram extraídos. No entanto, o trabalho local também deixou uma forte impressão e influência sobre esses Elderes.
